Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Embido. Please read them carefully. Most importantly: Embido provides software tools, not legal advice, and you remain responsible for the professional review of anything it produces.

Last updated: June 2026

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Embido, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and your firm. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

Embido provides AI assistants for law firms: a client intake agent for your website and a private internal assistant over your firm’s own documents. Features, limits, and pricing are described on our pricing page.

3. Not legal advice; no attorney-client relationship

Embido is a software tool and does not provide legal advice. Information generated by the assistants, including answers, summaries, and drafts, is not legal advice and must be reviewed by a qualified attorney before it is relied upon, sent, or filed. Your interaction with a firm’s client intake agent does not create an attorney-client relationship, and no such relationship is formed with Embido. Drafts are produced for attorney review and are marked accordingly.

4. Your account

You must be at least 18 and authorized to bind your firm. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account, and for ensuring your staff’s use complies with these terms and your professional obligations.

5. Your content & ownership

You retain all rights to the content and documents you provide. You grant us a limited license to host and process that content solely to provide the service to you. You are responsible for having the right to upload your content, for any conflicts or confidentiality obligations that attach to it, and for configuring access appropriately within your firm. As stated in our Privacy Policy, we never use your content to train AI models.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service for any unlawful purpose or to violate any professional or ethical rule;
  • upload content you do not have the right to use;
  • attempt to breach security, access other firms’ data, or disrupt the service;
  • misrepresent the assistants as providing legal advice to third parties;
  • resell or sublicense the service except as expressly permitted.

7. Fees & billing

Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment provider. Fees are exclusive of taxes. Usage above your plan’s included limits may incur overage charges as described at sign-up. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is.” AI output can be incomplete or inaccurate and must be verified by a qualified professional. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free or uninterrupted, and it is not a substitute for professional judgment.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Embido will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms or to protect the service or other users. On termination you may export your data for a reasonable period, after which it may be deleted.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. We will revise the “last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
